The Club strives to help elect the most qualified candidates to public office and works to serve as a liaison between elected officials, its members, and the community. The Club holds forums where constituents and officials meet to engage in dialogue concerning issues that are important to the community. The Club also holds meetings to educate members about candidates vying for office to make informed decisions as to which candidates to endorse, if any; hear from the community about issues of importance; and plan future fundraising, community, and political events.
Our members represent a cross-section of the community. Our doors are open to people from all backgrounds. This diversity brings to the Club a wealth of ideas and opinions. The Club continues to lead efforts to resolve community issues and concerns. We participate in our community by focusing on a multitude of political and social issues such as:
Because of its size, New York City can be a difficult place to participate in politics. The Club provides people with an opportunity to address the issues that concern us. It is a Club where you can have a voice in the political process, become a community leader and advocate, work to elect qualified candidates to public office, and have an impact on the community.
The Tilden Club has elected two local district leaders and two state committee persons.
